There are many new fillers in the market. The choice
depends on what you are looking to correct.
Some of the popular fillers are:
Restylane, Perlane, Juvaderm Ultra and
Juvaderm Ultra Plus are dermal fillers made
of hyaluronic acid (HA), which is a substance naturally found in
our body. The difference between these fillers are the manufacturers and their
manufacturing process. They can last any where from six
months to a year. At our practice we mainly use the HA
fillers and achieve great results. We like Juvaderm Ultra for the
lips.
Radiesse is a calcium based dermal
filler that helps temporarily fill-in facial fold and wrinkles. We like
Radiesse for volumizing the hands. The results can last up to a year or
more depending the client and how his/her body metabolizes the product.
Evolance, the new kid on the block is a dermal
filler made of natural collagen, a protein that is responsible for skin
structure and strength. It does not require any skin testing. Unlike
other dermal fillers, Evolence causes little or no swelling, or bruising, or
even redness. It can last six to 12
months.
