Are there ways to minimize Botox side effects?
How Botox and Hyluronic Acids can make your eyes look 10 years younger
Get bigger eyes with Botox! When Botox is injected below the lower lash line, it can prevent the upward motion of the lower lid, resulting in the illusion of larger eyes! If ther is drooping in the upper eyelid, which can make the eyes look smaller than they actually are, Botox can be injected into the upper eyelid, creating more open, wider eyes.
Get rid of under-eye circles/hollows with HA’s! Hollows can affect people of all ages. They are caused by a lack of under-eye fat, causing the skin and tissue to sink in, resulting in under-eye circles and making the eyes look gaunt. Under eye hollows may be either a natural condition, due to genetics or a hereditary component, or the result of too much fat that was removed during blepharoplasty. FORTUNATELY Hyaluronic acid fillers, such as Restylane, Juvederm and Perlane can be injected into under-eye hollows to instantly smooth out depressions and plump up the are, ridding you of that tired look as well as the need for expensive under-eye concealers!
To see if BOTOX or Hyluronic Acids are right for you, make an appointment at The Greenwich Medical Skincare & Laser Spa for a free consultation.

Dysport. A New Choice for the Treatment of Wrinkles.
Who doesn’t love to have choices? Whether you’re a current Botox user or a virgin to the use of it, you now have another option for the treatment of wrinkles.
Recently Dysport (abobotulinumtoxinA) has been FDA approved for the temporary inprovement in the appearance of moderate to sever glabellar lines, also known as “the elevens”.
Dysport works much like Botox (Botulinum Toxin Type A) in the treatment of wrinkles and static lines between the brows, on the forehead and around the eyes (crows feet). Like Botox, Dysport is recommended no more frequently than every 3 months, is contraindicated during pregnancy or while breastfeeding, for patients less than 65yrs old, or for anyone with, or at risk of, peripheral motor neuropathic diseases, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or neuromuscular junction disorders (e.g., myasthenia gravis or Lambert-Eaton syndrome). Dysport is also contraindicated in patients with infection at the proposed site, an allergy to cow’s-milk protein, or a known hypersensitivity to any botulinum toxin product (Botox) or its components
Unlike Botox, Dysport’s onset begins 24hrs after injection, with a 90% response by day 7. The results typically last for 4 to 6 months, and peak in 1 month. The effects of Botox are typically seen between 2 and 10 days, with the full effect in 14 days, and the results typically lasting for 3 to 4 months, peaking at 2 months.
There is also a difference in the potency units, dosage and dilution of Dysport. They are not interchangeable with other preparations of botulinum toxin products and, therefore, their units cannot be compared to or converted into units of Botox.
Currently Dysport is priced at $7/unit, but keep in mind, because of the difference in dosing, you will typically need twice the number of units as Botox. Generally Dysport is 20% less than Botox in most markets.
Make an appointment today to come in and discuss your options for wrinkle removal!
