Dry Flaking Skin
Dry skin may occur on any part of your body. The symptoms most often associated with dry or flaking skin include scaling, itching, and cracks in the skin.

Dry skin occurs more commonly in the winter when cold air outside and heated air inside contribute to low humidity. Forced-air furnaces lower the humidity even further.

The skin loses moisture and may crack and peel, or become irritated and inflamed. Bathing too frequently, especially with harsh soaps, may contribute to dry skin. Dry skin is frequently a sign of eczema.

Dry skin is generally treated with moisturizing creams and skin care products. Many products are available.
