How Some of the Latest FDA-Approved Fillers Give You a More Natural Look

newbeauty logoOriginal Article By NewBeauty Sponsored By Restylane. Whether it’s trying to achieve a tousled, bedhead wave or the perfect no-makeup makeup application, the concept of creating a natural (but better) beauty look is widely appealing. But, as anyone who has attempted to create it will quickly discover, it’s much harder than it sounds. The same is true of some of the most popular anti-aging procedures out there: Neuromodulators and fillers can do wonders helping to fight some of the most common signs of aging, but getting the results to look natural—and not overdone—is not always so easy to achieve.

Luckily, consumers now have two FDA-approved filler options on the market, and these launches were created with the purpose of providing patients with more natural-looking results. Restylane® Refyne and Restylane® Defyne are two hyaluronic acid dermal fillers that soften and smooth laugh lines (nasolabial folds and marionette lines) and contain next-generation technology to prevent the face from looking fake, injected or stiff. How does it work? We delve into the technology below.

The fillers move with your facial expressions.

Our faces are constantly moving and emoting, whether you realize it or not, so when one part of your face doesn’t, that’s when things start to look unnatural. Restylane Refyne and Restylane Defyne incorporate a unique XpresHAn Technology™, which gives the hyaluronic acid fillers flexibility1 to move within the face as natural expressions are made. XpresHAn Technology™ is made with a special manufacturing process that customizes the degree of hyaluronic acid cross-linking in each product, resulting in smooth gels with a range of flexibility and support that’s tailorable to different patient needs.

Two different options mean the injectable can be customized to support different needs.

Not everyone needs the same level of support from a filler, and even on the same person, different areas may better treated with different fillers. These fillers from Restylane® give doctors and patients a choice of what to use and where, for results that look more natural. Restylane Refyne is designed to be very subtle and flexible1 for patients who have moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds2, and Restylane Defyne is designed to provide more support for people with deeper facial wrinkles and folds3. Both fillers are the only ones on the market that have been shown in a clinical trial to help maintain movement and expressions4.
