Our COVID-19 Protocol

 

Dear GMS Patient,

It really cannot be said enough—your health, and the health of our staff, are paramount. We want to reassure you that the approach we are taking places the highest priority on your health and well-being, and that we are creating an environment that is safe for everyone. In accordance with the most up to date CDC and CT and NY Department of Health recommendations, we have instituted the following protocols to protect the safety of all and respectfully ask that you please:

 

 Arrive for your appointment alone unless you are the parent or guardian of a minor receiving treatment.

 Bring a face covering (mask or fabric covering) that covers your mouth and nose. All staff, patients and visitors will be required to wear face coverings at all times while in our office. If you do not have a mask, please inform the front desk upon your arrival so we can provide one for you.

 Leave your personal belongings in the car. We ask that you limit your belongings to your keys, cell phone and wallet.

 Answer our prescreening questions in advance of arriving for your appointment.

  • Do you have respiratory symptoms including fever and/or cough with or without shortness of breath or any other flu symptoms in the last 14 days?
  • Have you been in close contact with someone with COVID-19 in the past 4 weeks?

 Remain in your vehicle or outside of the building while you check in for your appointment. Please call us at (203) 637-0662 to inform us of your arrival and confirm you have a face covering.

 Wait for our staff to escort you into the building. We ask that you have your face covering on prior to our staff approaching you.

 Be prepared to have your temperature taken. A member of our staff will greet you at the door and take your temperature with a no contact thermometer. The CDC states that a fever is 100.4°. If you have a fever, your appointment will be rescheduled.

 Sanitize and cover your hands. Once you have entered the building, we will provide you with hand sanitizer and a pair of gloves that we will require you to wear for the duration of your treatment.

 Proceed directly to your treatment room. While respecting appropriate social distancing protocol, our staff will guide you directly to your treatment room as we have suspended the use of our tranquility area.

 Respect our staff. While it looks a little different, for your safety and ours, all staff will be equipped with all necessary personal protective gear including masks, gloves, N95 masks, face shields and disposable booties.

 Allow us to serve you. Our retail area is currently closed to patients; however, our staff will be happy to assist you with any purchases you would like to make.

 Update your credit card on file. All payments will be touchless until further notice, so we ask that you please provide the credit card information you plan to use for your treatment when booking your appointment.

We have prepared a quick video of these protocols so you can see exactly what to expect at your next in-office appointment.

In addition to the above precautions, here is how we are maintaining the already immaculate environment you know and trust at GMS:

✔ Screening all staff members prior to starting any work shift and conducting in depth, ongoing safety training.

✔ We will be disinfecting all surfaces and high-volume touch points throughout the day in addition to in between every patient using medial grade sanitizing products.

✔ Spacing out our patient appointments in order to minimize patient contact with other patients and staff.

✔ We have installed plexiglass at our check out counters and ask that all guests maintain appropriate social distancing as indicated in the stores.

✔ Scheduling deep cleaning for the office daily prior to opening.

✔ We have removed all product testers.

✔ Our office is closed to walk in visitors. All appointments may be made over the phone and we are happy to process any retail product orders for curbside pick-up or for home delivery through our online store, GMS Skin Lab.
