Founder & Visionary

Marria Pooya is the Greenwich Medical Spa (GMS) Founder and Visionary. After launching the company as a two-person operation in 2005, she has grown it to a five-location enterprise employing more than 45 staff members. Marria attributes the success of GMS locations to the high level of service, continuously updated and upgraded treatment and product offerings, thorough client education, and customized treatment plans that the practices provide. It is dedication to this high level of service that has allowed Greenwich Medical Spa to treat 20,000+ satisfied customers and earn accolades like being one of the Top 1% of BOTOX and Fillers providers in the country, the Top Provider of CoolSculpting in Connecticut, one of fastest growing companies by Inc. 5000 for 2020 and 2019, and the Greenwich and Westport locations were named Best Medical Spa by readers of Greenwich Lifestyle and Westport Lifestyle magazines.

Under Marria’s direction, GMS has developed a private label skincare line, ArieedMD, as well as the hair growth formulation, Re:Activate. But Marria’s vision for her business does not end with five successful locations. Her desire to support, influence, and help develop the women and her staff, as well as to be a role model for her daughter and within her community, drives her. She remains focused on knowing and delivering what her clients need and will want even before they realize it. Because of these professional responsibilities and ambitions, Marria looks to the future and plans to expand the practice into additional locations and other states. Within 10 years, she expects to have as many as 20 locations in the Northeast market.

Before founding GMS, Marria had a successful career as a High Yield Analyst on Wall Street with Alex Brown & Sons Inc. and Lehman Brothers. As the Director of Product Development and Marketing, Cosmetics with Momtaz Co., Inc., she developed and managed two distinct color cosmetic brands targeting contemporary and niche demographic segments in international and domestic markets.

As Co-Chair of the PinkAid 2021 Luncheon and Fashion Show, she helped raise more than $300,000. Marria has been recognized as one of the Powerful Women of Fairfield County by Fairfield County Business Journal. Since launching GMS, she and her staff have donated more than $175,000 to charitable organizations with an emphasis on empowering women, youth, and vulnerable populations.

Marria holds a dual B.S. in Finance and International Business from New York University’s Stern School of Business. She was selected to the Amspa Aesthetic Safety Council (AASC), which promotes compliance, safety and training in the medical aesthetic industry.
