Managing Partner of Greenwich Medical Spa, Marria Pooya has grown the company from a two-person operation founded in 2005 to employ more than 15 staff members. After moving the original Greenwich location to a larger facility in 2014, she launched a new location in Westport in 2017, and it has already shattered her demand predictions. Marria attributes the success of both Greenwich Medical Spa locations to the high level of service, continuously updated and upgraded treatment and product offerings, thorough client education, and customized treatment plans that the practices provide. It is dedication to this high level of service that has allowed Greenwich Medical Spa to treat 16,000+ satisfied customers and earn accolades like being one of the Top 2% of BOTOX and Fillers providers in the country, the Top Provider of CoolSculpting in Connecticut, and to be a finalist in the 2017 Business Innovator Awards. The medspa has also earned Expert Injector status and Diamond Level in the ZELTIQ Crystal Rewards Program.
Under Marria’s direction, Greenwich Medical Spa has developed a private label skincare line, ArieedMD, as well as the hair growth formulation, Re:Activate. But Marria’s vision for her business does not end with two successful locations. Her desire to support, influence, and help develop the women on her staff, as well as to be a role model for her daughter and within her community, drives her. She remains focused on knowing and delivering what her clients need and will want even before they realize it. Because of these professional responsibilities and ambitions, Marria looks to the future and plans to expand the practice into additional locations and other states. Within 10 years, she expects to have as many as 10 locations in the Northeast market.
Marria’s business acumen and competitive edge developed during her time as a High Yield Analyst on Wall Street covering beauty and consumer products companies. She later joined a startup that created color cosmetics lines for international and teen markets. Born in Kabul, Afghanistan, Marria relocated to Long Island as a child and was the first in her community to attend college. She earned a dual degree in Finance and International Business from NYU’s Stern School of Business. Since launching Greenwich Medical Spa, Marria and her staff have donated more than $100,000 to charitable organizations with an emphasis on empowering women, youth, and vulnerable populations. She is involved with the Blossom Hill Foundation, which supports organizations that engage and empower war-affected youth as leaders in the reconstructions of their lives and their communities, as well as Afghan Hands, a nonprofit that supports disadvantaged and disenfranchised women in Afghanistan. Marria lives with her husband and children, and when not focused on becoming the country’s top medspa magnate, she enjoys traveling the world.
