NOT RECOMMENDED FOR THE FOLLOWING PATIENTS:

✔ Those with active disease states, a hemorrhagic disorder or are on anticoagulant treatments.
✔ Patients with diabetes, epilepsy or bell’s palsy.
✔ Patients with sunburned skin.
PRE-TREATMENT PREP
9 days prior to treatment
✔ Refrain from any laser/IPL treatments, electrolysis, facial waxing and depilatories.
✔ Discontinue the use of cleansing devices (e.g Clarisonic) and any skincare containing retinoids, tretinoin, alphahydroxy acids (AHA), beta-hydroxy acids (BHA), benzoyl peroxide or any exfoliating agents.
24 hours prior to treatment
✔ Avoid prolonged sun exposure.
✔ Any sunburn to the area needs to be fully treated up to 24 hours before treatment.
✔ For patients prone to cold sores, an anti-viral medication must be taken 24 hours prior to treatment.
AFTERCARE SKINCARE REGIMEN
1. Cleanse: Use a gentle, soap-free cleanser like Arieed MD reFresh
Cleanser.
2. Moisturize: Apply a moisturizer in the morning and evening, or
as often as needed to relieve and restore skin comfort. We
recommend Arieed MD reDew Intensive Hyaluronic Moisturizer.
3. Protect: Use a SPF of 30 or higher throughout the day and avoid
direct sunlight for one week.
POST-TREATMENT CARE
What to expect:
✔ Your skin may feel warm, tight and/or ‘pulled’ for a few days following the treatment.
✔ Your skin may have some residual redness for 24 hours after the peel.
✔ Two days after your peel you may experience a light controlled peeling that will last no longer than a few days to a week.
✔ Due to different acid strengths and varying types of acid peels, you may not peel at all.
What to avoid:
✔ The treated area may look firm or feel stiff, but this generally subsides within 1 hour.
What to do:
✔ Avoid picking, pulling or removing any loose or exfoliating skin, no matter the temptation. This could result in permanent scarring and hyperpigmentation.
✔ Avoid wearing any makeup the day of the treatment or at least wait 4 hours after the peel. If you do apply makeup, we recommend that you use a mineral foundation such as Jane Iredale Mineral Makeup.
✔ Avoid any direct sun exposure. After 72 hours, a broad-spectrum sunscreen of SPF 30 or above should be used whenever there is sun exposure. This precaution should be continued throughout the treatment duration.
✔ Discontinue the following products until your skin has completely healed: Tretinoin, retinoids, alpha-hydroxy acids (AHA), beta-hydroxy acids (BHA), bleaching creams and exfoliating cleansing devices like the Clarisonic.
✔ Strenuous exercise that causes excessive sweating is not recommended 24 to 72 hours after a chemical peel.
WE RECOMMEND: CoolPeel CO2 Laser
