About The Activator™
Sooner or later, both men and women can begin to experience hair loss. From early signs like more hair on your comb or brush to visible evidence at your crown or hairline, thinning hair can feel like a losing battle.
To help you put up your best fight, we developed The Activator™, a non-surgical treatment to slow or reverse hair loss naturally and without any downtime. The Activator’s combination of microneedling exosomes, or growth factors, and an at-home regimen will encourage thicker, denser hair. It addresses multiple causes of hair loss, making it an ideal solution for men and women alike.
Hair Loss in Men (or Male Hair Loss)
Male pattern baldness is the leading cause of hair loss among men, and it’s generally a genetic issue. But you can slow the process, and you don’t need to resort to surgery to do it. Because The Activator™ both stimulates hair follicles through microneedling of growth factor onto the scalp and then includes at-home products shown by scientific studies to decrease hair loss, it offers a successful solution for men experiencing thinning hair and early or mid-stage hair loss.
Hair Thinning in Women (or Female Hair Loss)
A variety of issues may be to blame for hair loss among women, and The Activator™ was designed to address all of them! Aging, hormonal changes, stress, medication, hairstyles that pull, and vitamin deficiency can all lead to thinning hair. By getting to the root of the problem with microneedling of growth factor and then incorporating an ongoing at-home regimen with vitamins and two exclusive daily topical treatments, we successfully help women achieve fuller, thicker hair from forehead to part.
Our treatment The Activator™ provides a minimally invasive way to add volume and thickness back to your hair using microneedling and exosomes to stimulate growth. At home, you will follow a daily care regimen that includes hair vitamins, and our prescription-strength leave-in treatment Reactivate Scalp Treatment.
Typically, it takes a series of 3 treatments to achieve results, which you’ll see within 4 to 8 months. Over time, your hair will appear denser and thicker as thinning and balding areas will begin to diminish.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is The Activator™?
Developed by Greenwich Medical Spa, The Activator™ is an exclusive treatment for thinning hair. By using injections of our proprietary serum and prescription strength home care products, the Activator™ stimulates growth, providing you with hair that appears thicker and denser.
How does The Activator™ work?
The Activator™’s effectiveness comes from our proprietary serum, which stimulates the hair follicles when injected into the scalp. The Activator™ treatments are followed with a home care regimen utilizing prescription-strength products, hair vitamins and a Laser Hair Cap to maintain your results.
Does The Activator™ hurt, and is there any downtime?
Prior to treatment, you will be offered ibuprofen or Pronox, which will relieve any sense of discomfort. There is no downtime following an Activator™ treatment, and any pain can be easily managed with Ibuprofen. You may experience some mild swelling of the forehead for a day or two following treatment. This is normal and will subside within 48 hours. Until the swelling is gone, you should avoid vigorous activity, but you can wash your hair normally immediately following treatment.
How many Activator™ treatments will I need?
The Activator™ provides results after the 3 microneedling and injection treatments are completed. To ensure that your hair continues to thrive, we will assess your results every four months and track your progress each year. Follow-up is very important, and we may advise a touch-up treatment. Most results last two years.
When will I see results from The Activator™?
You will have noticeable results after the series of 3 microneedling and serum injection treatments are completed. In keeping with the hair growth cycle, you could see a difference in your hair’s thickness and your hairline as soon as 4 months after treatment, although 6 to 8 months is typical.
Does The Activator™ provide a permanent solution to hair loss or do I need to come back for maintenance?
Results from this new, cutting-edge treatment have been shown to last up to two years without additional injections.
Is The Activator™ treatment good for women?
The Activator™ slows the thinning of hair on both men and women, leaving you with thicker and denser locks.
Is The Activator™ beneficial for all hair and skin types?
Yes! The Activator™ is safe for all skin types and effective for all hair types.
Is there an at-home care program associated with The Activator™?
Yes, the in-office microneedling and exosomes are combined with prescription-strength products and hair vitamins that you use at home to achieve the best results and maintain them. The at-home products are complimentary as a part of the Activator™ procedure.
Will The Activator™ help if I am already experiencing hair loss?
Starting treatment soon after hair thinning begins offers the maximum improvement potential. The Activator™ works well on male pattern hair loss, especially during the early stages of balding, as well as female pattern hair loss at all stages, including alopecia and hair loss caused by vitamin and mineral deficiencies, hormonal changes, stress and medication.
